A Rosh Hashanah Message

Dr. Eyran Halpern, Chief Executive Officer of Rabin Medical Center

Dear Friends,

Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, will soon be upon us. This is a time of new beginnings, an opportunity to reflect on past achievements and look forward to our growth and development. Though more than 70 years have passed since the seeds for this hospital were first planted and great transformations have since taken place, our mission to provide the best comprehensive medical care to all citizens of Israel has remained the same, and our latest achievements reflect that promise.

Over the past year we have completed the renovation of the laboratories at the Pathology Institute and the Neurology Clinics and we will soon begin an important project enlarging and refurbishing our Pulmonary Institute, the only one in the country which performs lung transplants. We have taken additional steps toward the construction of the Jusidman Emergency and Trauma Center, the largest and most significant of all our current projects, a very complex building project which needs to meet strict security regulations including a large underground parking facility which can be used as protective shelter during emergency situations.

Research studies in all fields of medicine have grown considerably over the last year including collaborative projects with medical centers abroad. We have also hosted prestigious international scientific symposiums in the fields of gastroenterology, orthopedics and prostate cancer, among others.

As we remember our past, it is essential that Rabin Medical Center continues its life saving mission toward the final stage in receiving accreditation from the Joint Commission International (JCI), the largest non-profit organization awarding accreditation to healthcare organizations in the United States and globally, we will have our final evaluation before the end of the year. This prestigious accreditation will place Rabin Medical Center among the top medical facilities around the world.

Our achievements could not have been accomplished without the support of our generous friends in Israel, America and around the world, and we look forward to continue meeting the challenges that lie ahead together.

As we embark on this journey together, I wish you and your families Shana Tova, with health and joy.

Dr. Eyran Halpern
