American Friends of Rabin Medical Center is seeking funding in the amount of $2 million to establish a comprehensive hospital-based multidisciplinary center for prevention, screening, early detection, and "fast track diagnosis" of breast diseases. The Center will also conduct community outreach for prevention and education about breast cancer.
The proposed new Breast Care Center will be an inclusive comprehensive facility which will combine the two current Breast Clinics at the Rabin Medical Center's two campuses with the hospital's various breast imaging facilities, expanding the services and facilities to offer the community wide-ranging breast care. The Center will be physically located in one large area within the Helen Schneider Women's and Maternity Hospital.
Furthermore, it will bring together multidisciplinary teams, including surgeons, radiologists, gynecologists, plastic surgeons, geneticists, oncologists, dieticians, psychologists and others, working together and pooling the resources of each specialty, and will offer a comprehensive program of services for women for the diagnosis and treatment of breast diseases.
Funding: $2.7 million
