L-R: Phyllis and Malcolm Trobman, Les Trobman, Desi Trobman, Brian Schneider, Mayer Trobman
This year's Miami Tropical Half-Marathon in January brought runners and observers to motivate and encourage the Trobman Family in their effort to combat cancer. Funds raised through their sponsors help to support the Charles E. Trobman Oncology Management Center housed at the New Davidoff Cancer Center at the Rabin Medical Center in Petah Tikvah, Israel. The Research Center was named in memory of Phyllis and Malcolm's son, Chuck, who died at the age of 25 from a rare form of cancer. Chuck was also the beloved brother of Les, an attorney in Austin, Texas. Through the generosity of approximately 100 donors supporting this run in Chuck's memory, the efforts through this project and others in the future, will impact the way cancer is treated for us and for generations to follow.
Thanks to a special foundation established by the Friends of Rabin Medical Center, nurses from Rabin Medical Center participate in training fellowships at renowned medical facilities abroad each year.
After being shot on Thursday July 25th, in Dagestan Russia, 40 year old Rabbi Ovadia Isakov, was flown to Rabin Medical Center for life saving medical treatment.
As hundreds of white and blue balloons
were released into the sky, the first
cancer patients walked through the
doors of the Davidoff Center on that
beautiful Sunday of May 8, 2005.
