New York’s Café Philo Israel

The New Circle has successfully launched Cafe Philo Israel, a monthly gathering for intellectuals, decision makers, executives and professionals who want to explore political, social, and cultural developments in Israel. "I find these discussions both insightful and thought-provoking," said Joshua Plaut, Executive Director of American Friends of Rabin Medical Center and co-moderator. "As surprising as it seems, we are the only discussion group in New York City that specifically targets Israeli issues," he added. "We are thrilled to have Emmanuel Tchividjian, Senior Vice President of Ruder Finn, serve as co-moderator."

Topics of discussion are: Pros and Cons of the Gaza Disengagement; Old Pope, New Pope: How Can Israel and the Vatican Improve Relations?; A Final Settlement of the Arab-Israeli Conflict: What should it be like?; Do American Jews Have Any Responsibilities Toward Israel?; Is the Mass Media Biased Toward Israel?; and Ariel Sharon – The Man and His Legacy; The Changing of the Guard, What to Expect from the Israeli Elections?
