Dr. Dror Dicker, Director of the Department of Medicine D and head of the Clinic for Obesity and Hypertension at Israel's Rabin Medical Center, has been appointed Chairman of the Israel Association of Internal Medicine. This association for Israeli doctors is responsible for promoting internal medicine in Israel. It works to maintain and increase professional standards, to research and develop new courses of study, to promote programs for residency in internal medicine and to encourage specialization in areas relating to internal medicine. The Israel Association of Internal Medicine also facilitates collaboration with medical associations and other institutions in Israel and abroad. Dr. Dicker commented:
"Internal Medicine, the basis for all medicine, has an obligation to care for patients with complex medical conditions that span a wide range of medical domains. In my position as head of the Israel Association of Internal Medicine, I intend to promote and advance the quality of internal medicine in Israel, to improve the conditions, expertise and work environment, and to attract new young doctors to this field of medicine, all in an effort to promote the best possible patient health."

Leslie and David Schwartz, whose home is in New Hampshire, have always understood the importance of helping others, both in Israel and the United States. Yet perhaps different than many other supporters of Israel is that the Schwartz's take an active role in the causes which they support.
