Lucette Lagnado and Barry Cohen
The American Friends of Rabin Medical Center held its fifth annual Women's Luncheon at The Restaurant of 15 Central Park West in Manhattan. Wall Street Journal Culture Reporter and acclaimed author of The Man in the White Sharkskin Suit, Lucette Lagnado was the guest speaker. Ms. Lagnado discussed her latest book, The Arrogant Years-One Girl's Search for Her Lost Youth, from Cairo to Brooklyn, recounting the emotional turmoil she and her family experienced as they were forced to leave Cairo when she was seven years old, eventually moving to Bensonhurst, Brooklyn. In addition, the guests were treated to the wonderful voice of Leah Tehrani, who recently had her Broadway debut in My Life in Music. The event also featured a private jewelry sale by Joseph Murray and Meredith Fredrick. Co-Chairs Dawn Effron and Phyllis Arnold organized this beautiful luncheon. Proceeds from the luncheon benefit a future multi-disciplinary Breast Cancer Center at Israel's Rabin Medical Center.
